Need to Put My Feet Up

Whoa... where did my day go? It was a gloomy day. Ohio weather...
Okay on to the good stuff. Y'all have to try this bread. It is hearty. It has sesame seeds and sunflower seeds for a bit of crunch. And it's whole wheat and dense. It's the bread I'm using now in all the pictures. Because it's whole wheat, it has a ton of fiber and protein. Yummy. I can't even touch white bread because to me it's like eating air. There's nothing to white bread.
I snacked on a zbar. I'm dieing to try the smores flavor.

Had some leftover African sweet potato peanut soup for lunch. It's one of those soups that just get better with time. Bad blogger :/ had half before I remembered to take a picture.
This is the kitchen. The people here are WONDERFUL. There's very few instances of your life that you feel at home and exactly like yourself within the first hour. These people were silly, funny, real and most of all down to earth. It always makes me say "wow" every time I meet people from other walks of like. They came from a different life and a background in which I had not previously encountered. They don't have a big ol' house, a mustang, or designer sunglasses. They grew up hard. But the lessons they learned and shared with me is nothing money can buy. It's so refreshing to just talk about REAL life and your stories. Remember y'all this is my first day.
Tonight's function was Coffman's girls lacrosse team's banquet. If you know me well, this was an interesting coincidence. The menu was garlic bread, four cheese meat spinach lasagna, pasta with alfredo sauce, italian salad and brownies and cookies for dessert. Actually a lot of this meal came from boxes and when I realized it I was like "Uh oh...what did I get myself into? Is there cooking?" Well, we'll actually see later on Saturday for a wedding. That menu is long and complicated. Garlic bread, brownie and cookies were from boxes so all I had to do was stick in the oven. Italian salad's lettuce was from a pre chopped bag. Ranch dressing, alfredo sauce and the lasagna was homemade. Holy crap, it was good.

Chef made me a dish of baked pasta with alfredo sauce to try. Of course it was heavenly. I mean anything is with loads of butter, heavy cream and cheese and more cheese. I also had some meat loaf, that was so so. Not a fan of meatloaf texture.
Chef showed me how to correctly slice peppers. What out for those shape knifes!!! ekk!!! Yes, I sliced thin slices for the salad and diced for the meatloaf.
  1. cut the top off
  2. pull out the guts
  3. cut into quaters
  4. slice the white parts out
  5. slice into slices
  6. I guess it wasn't too hard
I'll give you a sneak peak of what Four Seasons like. I'm going to wait for a prettier day to photograph the pond. But they had a lovely fire going and I was freezing my butt off so I just HAD to stick my hands there for a while.

For service, I stood out at the buffet, manning it and replenishing food. I learned about the hot box and how hot food can get in those buffet trays. Wonderful. It's interesting watching all the food you labored over disappear within 30 minutes. ( I don't know why this is underlined)

My feet were killing me by the time I got home at around 8ish. I wore my nonslip shoes that I use for Graeters to work. This really teaches you about how hard work can be and how important comfortable shoes are.Even though I'm trying to cook for my self the entire time during my senior project, I couldn't resist my mommy's cooking. I love her sauted greens. I don't know what else she put in there but it was still crunchy, leafy, salty and has a wonderful flavor. One day I will show you the kind of three dish dinner my mommy makes every night.
A little side of tuna salad with artichokes, onion, spinach and some other stuff from Whole Foods. See? This is why I ( and my family) like to cook for ourselves because we know what we're feeding to ourselves and not some crappy chemicals not that Whole Foods use anything but whole foods. Ha, ha, ha, get it?
You have to try this sandwich: jam and cheese. KERF inspired.
Also feeling like I'm going to get sick soon. The dreaded tickle in the back of your throat and swollen lymph nodes. Nothing like Airborne. Been having pineapples for snack and I'm going to polish off the rest after I click publish. By the way, I don't document everything I put into my mouth cause I think that's a little too OCD for me. Nighty night.
