I had a beautiful bowl of overnight oats waiting for me when I got up. I wasn't hungry at all when I woke up after eating so much of that gooey magic bars last night but I was plenty hungry when I saw the oats. It was better then I thought I was going to turn out (I made it before wiht only milk). This was really thick and creamy and I can taste and chew the oats. I was feeling off this morning so I didn't add any toppings. But you can add:
PB, almond butter, jam, walnuts, berries, sliced banana, cottage cheese, muffin crumbs, pumpkin, granola, chocolate chips, honey, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon
I had a lightly sire throat and headache. It must just be working my butt off but I'm so glad I'm doing what I'm doing. I absolutely love the people I'm working around and the culinary knowledge I'm learning. It's such a different when you do what you love as opposed to what you dread. Now I literally snap my eyes open and jump out of bed.

Today's lunch was for a business meeting. 17 people, that's an interesting number. The menu was rolls and butter, grilled chicken with tomato sauce, veggies and roasted potato. Sorry no pic, wasn't in the mood today and didn't want to force myself. For lunch, as you know I usually pack but was feeling off and didn't pack any. But chef made me yummy veggies! It was really flavorful and it's better then I thought it was going to me. Spinach, broccoli, carrots and tomato sauted in sesame seed oil.

I snacked on some of roasted potato to hold me over.

Guess what I got in the mail today? A time capsule from 7th grade. Crazy. I was actually thinking about it a couple months ago. In 7th grade our teacher had everyone write a letter to ourselves and he would mail it in our senior year. I still have a clear memory of 12 year old me writing this. I can't believe my handwriting was like this. It'a clearly changed now. I wasn't surprised at what I wrote. I was into reading and horses in 7th grade and it's pretty obvious in my letter. How about now? I would still love to ride but I stopped soon after I wrote the letter. And as for reading? I have mixed feelings about it because I still love reading for fun about all sorts of things but after reading thousands of pages for history and English, I'm not quite sure.

Don't ask me why it's "Song of myself". But one surprising thing about what I put here was " my favorite subject". I"m surprised I put social studies because math has always always been my best subject but social studies interests me the most and it still does. I loved my government class this year. Though it was tough as expected, I'm so glad I took AP comparative government and AP US government because I understand the implications of the country and world that I live in now. And also, I love the discussions in this class because the teacher seemed to have a limitless knowledge about social studies and all kinds of quirky stories.
