Active Day

My early Sunday morning started with Greek yogurt! I love it so much! I threw in some fresh cherries and a crushed Nature Valley granola bar. I woke up expecting to be exhausted from the wedding last night but once I got going I felt fine. Magic.

Do you see how thick it is?

In past winter I didn’t do swim team but I’m one of those people who have to break a sweat to feel good so I signed up for fitness classes at the Dublin Rec Center. They have terrific instructors and all of them are so outrageously enthusiastic that I’m smiling while other are grunting during the grueling workout. One of my favorite classes was spinning. No, not spin in a circle, more like stationary biking. I love because it gives me such a better workout them riding in Ohio’s flatlands and I love the group aspect ranging from new to experiences, young (me) to old and the music is so upbeat. It’s such a great way to start the day. I remember that the spinning classes are so popular that people are waiting outside the door in the middle of winter for the doors to unlock to rush in to sign up for the few spots in class. I thought it was going to be the same way so I got there 8 sharp and guess what? Most people turn to the great outdoors for workouts now. Honestly, I really think a real workout is outdoors, getting your hands dirty. But I have no knowledge of biking since I can’t really run anymore, at least now I can’t.

It was an awesome class. I returned home, hot and sweaty but feeling good about doing something good for myself. Don’t you love the flowers my mom planted?

I promised my friend Katy that I’d do yoga with her ages ago and she and I have been so busy that we finally got around to it today. I love her to death. I spent honestly the first 30 minutes just catching up and her filling me in with all the drama at school. The Self yoga DVD was actually really good and I was really impressed. Usually yoga DVDs give you a lot of bazaar things to do but this one was simple but challenging.

My camera ate part of my lunch. My green monster, an almond butter sandwich and a juicy tomato!

I had a couple random tasting: sauted veggies in sesame seed oil and roasted potato. Tonight’s function was Coffman’s drama banquet and what do you know? I recognized many familiar faces and the drama’s teacher’s familiar face. But no one seemed to recognized me…hmmm… Putting up those glass were so nerve racking! I was so afraid I was going to knock all them over. But I didn’t. Oh, and getting the food pans from the hot box to the buffet line was also very nerve racking. What if I dropped an entire pan of food? What are the people suppose to eat? The chicken off the floor?

I made and decorated cheesecake and chocolate cake plates. Along side it, I also learned to whip cream and decorate plates using some coulis. Then broke down red skinned potato and seasoned it. Then I piped herb butter. Oh, I also caught some kitchen drama. It was fairly interesting. I also helped setting up.

All of the PO’s and menu is posted on the cooler door and the chef is reviewing next week’s schedule and foods.

I came home feeling full but not stuffed and I don’t really know why. Did I eat that much for lunch and during work? Okay, maybe it was the couple of white chocolate chip cookies I had when I walked into the door. I had a plate of my mom’s cooking: some sauted potato strips with tomato and pepper, some long green beans and garlic, boiled peanuts with too many spices to count and rice. It was good. My mom and I like to take walks after dinner. Man, it seemed like the entire neighborhood was outside. It was a beautiful day.

Tonight's snack was um...oreo cheesecake and cookies and cream ice cream...
